Before buying 8
How much does an elevator cost?
It depends on the type, capacity, number of floors, speed, finishes and shaft condition. We offer the best quality at the best value, with a clear written quotation after a survey.
How do I choose the right elevator for my home?
It depends on the number of floors, available space, whether there is a shaft, and the number of users. For new villas we usually recommend a machine-room-less (MRL) elevator; for existing homes with limited space a platform lift or steel-structure elevator may fit best.
What is the difference between traction and hydraulic elevators?
A traction elevator uses a machine with ropes or belts and suits more floors, higher speeds and lower energy use under frequent operation. A hydraulic elevator uses an oil piston, suits short travel and few floors, and needs space for the pump unit.
Is a machine-room-less (MRL) elevator better?
In most modern projects, yes: it saves the machine room, its gearless machine is quieter and more efficient, and installation is faster. Maintenance needs technicians trained on this type.
What capacity do I need?
Homes usually need 3 to 6 persons. Residential buildings often use 630 kg (8 persons) or 1000 kg (13 persons) — the latter is better for furniture and wheelchairs. We set capacity precisely with a traffic study.
Which brands do you offer?
Approved manufacturers including SHARP, Asia Fuji (sole agent in Kuwait), AXEL and SABIEM, plus Shin Woo smart parking systems, to European standards.
Can I see the elevator before installation?
Yes. Visit our Shuwaikh showroom to see cabin and door samples, and we provide a 3D visualization of your elevator with your chosen finish before installation.
Do you offer advice before buying?
Yes, consultation is free. We review the drawing or survey the site and propose the best solution before any commitment.

Design and construction 8
Which shaft dimensions do I need to prepare?
Shaft width and depth, pit depth below the lowest stop, headroom above the top stop and door opening sizes. All vary with capacity, model and speed, so send us the drawing before casting concrete and we will reply with exact dimensions.
How deep should the pit be?
For conventional elevators it is usually roughly 1 to 1.5 m, while some home models and platform lifts work with a very shallow pit or none at all. The chosen model decides.
How much headroom is needed above the top floor?
It depends on model and speed — roughly 3.5 to 4 m for conventional elevators, and less for some home models.
What are the electrical requirements?
A dedicated supply with its own breaker; most passenger elevators need a three-phase supply, plus shaft lighting and a socket in the pit. We send detailed requirements for your model.
Does the shaft need ventilation?
Yes. Ventilation is important in Kuwait’s heat to protect the machine and controller, and air-conditioning the machine room (if any) is recommended.
Can an elevator be installed in an existing house without a shaft?
Yes, with a steel or glass structure inside or outside the house, or a platform lift, with minimal demolition.
Can an elevator be installed outside the building?
Yes, with a weather-resistant steel structure treated against humidity and heat, with glass or solid cladding as you prefer.
Concrete shaft or steel structure?
A concrete shaft suits new buildings and insulates sound better; a steel structure is faster to build and suits existing homes and panoramic designs.

Installation and licensing 6
How long does installation take?
It depends on the elevator type, number of floors and shaft readiness; we set a clear timeline in the quote and stick to it.
What do I need to prepare before installation?
A ready shaft to the agreed dimensions, the required power supply, a safe place to store equipment and easy site access for the team.
Is the elevator tested before handover?
Yes. We test all safety systems — brakes, overspeed governor, door locks, alarm and power-cut rescue — then hand over with user training.
Do you follow up licensing and inspection?
Yes. As an approved company we prepare the elevator for inspection and follow up with the authorities until approval.
Will installation disturb my home?
We stage the work to reduce dust and noise, protect floors and walls, and most work happens inside the shaft or structure.
Is there a warranty after installation?
Yes. Every new installation includes a warranty and a maintenance period after handover, detailed in the contract.

Maintenance 7
How often does an elevator need maintenance?
Visits depend on the elevator type and how heavily it is used; a monthly visit is common for regularly used elevators, and the schedule is set in the contract.
What does a maintenance contract include?
Scheduled visits, inspection of safety systems, brakes, ropes and doors, cleaning and lubrication, breakdown response, and a written report after each visit.
Do you maintain elevators installed by other companies?
Yes. After inspecting and assessing the elevator, we offer a suitable maintenance contract.
Are the spare parts genuine?
Yes. We use genuine parts for safety and service life, and stock parts for the brands we work with.
How long does an elevator last?
A regularly maintained elevator usually serves 20 to 25 years or more, with some components upgraded along the way.
When does an elevator need modernization?
When faults repeat, parts are hard to find, performance slows and noise rises, or modern safety systems are missing. We assess it with a survey and technical report.
Which signs mean I should call immediately?
Strong grinding, a burning smell, uneven stopping at floors, or the car moving with doors open. Stop the elevator and call the emergency line.

Safety and emergencies 6
What should I do if someone is trapped?
Call us immediately on 1852020 or 22251111, ask the person to stay calm and press the alarm, and never force the doors or try to get them out yourself.
What happens during a power cut?
If the elevator has an automatic rescue device (ARD), it brings the car to the nearest floor and opens the doors automatically. It can be added to many existing elevators.
Can the air run out inside the car?
No. Cars are designed with ventilation openings, and temporary entrapment is safe until the technician arrives.
Can the elevator be used during a fire?
No — always use the stairs during a fire unless the elevator is a designated firefighters’ lift in the building design.
How do I protect children?
Full-height door sensors, not letting children ride alone, and teaching them to press the alarm and wait calmly if the car stops.
Is the emergency service always available?
Yes, our emergency team is available 24/7, every day.
